Aia. Series Incompletas Foto y Video.

This video art piece is the result of my experience living in Taiwan, Taipei for one year. My goal was to try to understand and identify specific characteristics from the environment, culture and local people in order to create a unique character for a video art piece. My methodology is based on daily life experience, observation and assimilation for a long period of time, until imagination is capable of translating personal experience into creative imaginary.
Aia is a character that lives in rooftops of Taipei City from where she observes different phenomena related to extreme climate change, religion, social behavior and architecture. Her costume is created from ready-made garments, which can be found in any corner store in Taipei, specifically related to weather protection. This heroine is constantly about to jump into city’s complex way of living but founds herself incapable. Incompatibility is shown in the ¨no eyes¨ hair cut style.

Aia es el siguiente proyecto después de la pieza de video CELESTE. Esta secuela desarrolla también un personaje construido en base a la experiencia de la ciudad y sus particulares formas de vivirla.
En esta oportunidad Taipei es sujeto de exploración tanto como de sus espacios como estéticas. De su desarrollo como capital de la Isla de Taiwan y su condición geográfica.
La construcción de arquitectura determinada por los cambios climáticos, lluvias constantes y el comportamiento de sus habitantes en relación a estos factores.
